Convert WebP to PNG

Only the format changes. Add a size or pixel limit only if you need one.

What does the upload require?

Example conditions. Choose to load the conditions, then select your own image.

Use the same requirements again.

Save conditions in My specs and reuse them. Image files are not saved.

JPG · PNG · WebP · HEIC/HEIF

HEIC/HEIF supports a single HEVC still photo. Outputs are JPG (default), PNG or WebP, with HEIF presentation orientation applied. HDR and wide-gamut color matching is not guaranteed.

Good to know when converting WebP to PNG

Convert to PNG when a site or program does not accept WebP. PNG is preselected on this page, and the original width and height in pixels are kept unless you set dimensions.

PNG keeps transparent areas as they are. It does not lower quality to save space, so photos can become larger than the WebP. If there is a size limit, enter it under “More conditions” and you will see whether it is met.

Before you save, the new file is re-opened to check its format and pixel size. Animated WebP is not supported.

How it works

  1. Pick the conditionsEnter only the file size, pixels and format your upload form states. Leave anything you don’t know empty.
  2. Check the framingWhen cropping to an exact size, choose the part to keep and see what will be cut on the image first.
  3. Check the real file, then saveThe file is re-opened and its size, pixels and format are shown next to the target before you save. Acceptance by the form’s reviewers is not guaranteed.

Help

How does it meet the limits?

It resizes the image the way you chose while keeping its proportions. For JPG and WebP it tries several encoder quality settings and keeps the highest one under your size limit. Before saving, it re-opens the real file and checks its size, pixels and format, and shows each result.

How does “exact size” work?

The result gets exactly the width and height you enter. If the shape differs from the original, “Crop to fill” trims the edges around the part you choose (center by default), and “Add margins” shows the whole image and fills the rest. Images are never stretched, and only enlarged if you allow it. Before converting, the workspace shows on the image what will be cut.

Does it secretly shrink my photo to reach the size limit?

No. Dimensions change only as you set them. If the quality setting alone can’t reach the limit, the result is marked “Limits not met” and you can choose to change the size or format. Changing an exact size is labelled as a limit change.

Why can’t some PNG files reach the size limit?

PNG does not lower quality, so this tool has little room to shrink it. Dedicated optimizers may store the same image in a smaller PNG. For photos with complex colors, switching to JPG or WebP or reducing the dimensions is the reliable option.

What is the difference between KB and KiB?

1 KB is 1,000 bytes and 1 KiB is 1,024 bytes, so for the same number the KB limit is a little smaller. If you are not sure which one a site means, compare the exact byte count shown under the field. This is only byte arithmetic; it does not guarantee acceptance.

Does it guarantee my upload will be accepted?

No. This tool checks only file size, pixels and format. It does not check rules such as face position, background or when the photo was taken, so always follow the instructions of the place you are submitting to.

What happens to my work if I change the language or reload?

Changing the language on this page keeps your files, limits and results. Files are kept only in this tab’s memory, not stored or sent anywhere. Reloading or closing the tab starts over. Changing the language does not change units or size limits.

Which browsers can I use?

It is built for current browsers. If your browser can’t save a certain format, you are told before a result can be saved.

Privacy

Images are processed inside your browser only. Originals, results, file names and photo details (EXIF) are never sent to a server or to analytics or ad services, and are not put into the page address (URL).

Only the conditions you save in “My specs” (name, size and unit, sizing mode, part to keep, format, background color) stay in this browser. Images, file names and photo data (EXIF) are not stored. Clearing the browser’s site data removes them.

No sign-up, no tracking cookies, and no external fonts or scripts.
